Planting & Care Guide

• When to Plant: Direct-sow seeds outdoors directly into the warm soil after all danger of spring frost has passed and soil temperatures reach 70°F. Pumpkins have sensitive root systems and do best when sown right into the ground. For areas with very short growing seasons, you can start them indoors in biodegradable peat pots 2–3 weeks before the last frost.

• Seeding Depth: 1 inch deep. Plant 4 to 5 seeds together in raised mounds (or "hills") of loose, rich soil. Mounds naturally catch the sun's warmth and drain water perfectly, which pumpkin seedlings love. Seeds typically sprout in just 7 to 10 days.

Let the harvested pumpkins sit in a warm, sunny, dry spot for 10–14 days to cure.
